MacBook Pro 14-inch M3 (A2918) Screen Replacement in Dubai AED 1600, All-Inclusive

In late 2023 Apple released two 14 inch MacBook Pros at the same time. One with the plain M3 chip, model A2918. One with the M3 Pro or M3 Max, model A2992. They look the same BUT They're not the same model, and for this both screen Price is different .

The quickest check is the model number in the small print on the underside of the base. A2918 is this page. A2992 has its own page at 1650 AED.

If you can't read it, count the ports. The M3 model has two Thunderbolt ports, both on the left side. The M3 Pro and Max have three, two on the left and one on the right. Or open the Apple menu, About This Mac, and look at Chip. Apple M3 on its own, with no "Pro" or "Max" after it, is the A2918.

It has 2 Colours that's are Space Grey and Silver. The M3 didn't come in Space Black. If your 14 inch Pro is Space Black, it's an A2992.

Apple updated the 14 inch panel for the M3 generation. The obvious change is SDR brightness: everyday content on the A2918 runs at up to 600 nits, up from 500 on the M1 Pro and M2 Pro models. HDR peak stayed at 1600. The updated panel is a different part with a slightly higher cost, and the price follows it.

Apple replaces the whole display assembly on this model included Lid, hinges, cables, antenna, camera, panel, all as one part. Some independent shops do the same because it's faster. You pay for a lot of components that weren't broken.

But at MacTech Pro We only take the damaged panel out of your existing lid and fit a new one. Your 1080p camera stays in the notch. Your hinges stay. Your lid stays. It's slower work and it takes more care, but it's the reason this repair is 1600 and not the price of an entire lid assembly.

The exception is a lid bent from a drop. If a new panel won't sit flat we'll tell you before we start.

Both work.

True Tone calibration is stored on the panel. Replace the panel without transferring it and the True Tone toggle vanishes from System Settings. We transfer it during the repair.

ProMotion works because the replacement is an original Apple mini-LED panel. We test the refresh rate switching, from 24Hz on video to 120Hz when scrolling, before the laptop goes back.

Most common damage reason is pressure on MacBook Pressure in a bag is first. A charger or a hard drive against the lid, or the laptop at the bottom of a pile. You cannot see crack from outside but a dark bloom, coloured lines or a black region inside. On mini-LED it sometimes shows as a patch where the backlight works but the image doesn't.

Closing the lid on something is second. An earbud, a cable end, a pen on the keyboard. The crack begins exactly there.

Corner drops are third. Cracked panel, sometimes a bent lid.

And now and then a panel fails on its own. A stuck dimming zone, a dim strip along one edge, flicker. We check whether it's the panel, the cable or the board before charging anything.

Our warranty covers the panel we fitted and the work we did for three months. Dead pixels, lines, a failed dimming zone, flicker, backlight faults, the display lifting at an edge. Not covered: new damage, or blooming, which is normal.

The A2918 is a late 2023 laptop, so Apple's one year warranty has run out on most units. Even while it was active, it never covered accidental damage. A cracked or pressure damaged screen is only covered under AppleCare+. If you have AppleCare+, go to Apple first. If not, Apple's out of warranty quote is for a full assembly replacement and priced accordingly. Their figure changes, so we don't list it, but compare it against 1600 before deciding.
