MacBook Pro 14-inch M4 Max (A3185) Screen Replacement in Dubai AED 1680, All-Inclusive

Let analysis Two things before anything else, because the 14 inch MacBook Pros from November 2024 all look the same.

Model number. Turn the laptop over. In the small print near the bottom edge of the base you'll find "Model A3185". That's the 14 inch with the M4 Max chip.

Chip. Open the Apple menu, click About This Mac, and read the Chip line. It should say Apple M4 Max.

The A3185 has three Thunderbolt 5 ports (two left, one right), HDMI, an SD card slot and MagSafe, and it came in Space Black or Silver. If the chip line says something else, you have a different 14 inch and the price will be different. Send us a photo of the base and we'll tell you.

Two reasons, and they're different from the reasons on a cheaper local laptop market

The first is that an older 14 inch XDR panel will fit this laptop and look right until you push it. It runs everyday content at 500 or 600 nits rather than 1000. Someone who bought an M4 Max for the display would lose the brightest SDR panel Apple has made, and might not notice until they were working outside or grading in a bright room. We fit the 2024 part and prove it in testing.

The second is that aftermarket mini-LED panels don't hold up on a machine like this. Fewer dimming zones, lower peak brightness, ProMotion that's unreliable, and more early failures than aftermarket panels for cheaper laptops. On a laptop used for colour work, that's a tool you can no longer trust.

If you're quoted well under 1680 for this repair, ask the shop to show you 1000 nits SDR, 1600 nits HDR and the reference mode presets on the finished screen. It takes five minutes.

We use Pre-cut Apple adhesive strips it shaped to the housing, rated for heat, even pressure on every edge. That's what holds the panel from the factory and what we use.

Glue and generic tape are quicker and nearly freebut this is not generous. They're also what fails when the laptop spends an afternoon in a car in summer. A lifted corner, dust under the edge, and on mini-LED sometimes a bright or dark band where the panel is under uneven pressure. The original strips are included.

This laptop goes on set, into edit suites and through airports. Most of the damage is from transport.

Pressure damage first. A charger, drive or lens case against the lid in a bag. No mark outside, but a dark bloom, coloured lines or a black region inside. On mini-LED it sometimes shows as an area where the backlight works but the image doesn't.

Then the lid closed on something. Earbud, cable end, pen. The crack begins there.

Then corner drops, which crack the panel and can bend the lid.

Occasionally a panel fails without damage. A dimming zone stuck dark, a dim strip along one edge, flicker. We work out whether it's the panel, the cable or the logic board before charging anything.

You get Three months warrasnty for every repair on the panel and the work. Dead pixels, lines, a failed dimming zone, flicker, backlight faults, the display lifting at an edge. Bring it back and we fix it.

Not covered: new damage. A fresh crack, a bent lid, liquid inside. Blooming isn't a fault.

Apple's one year warranty on a late 2024 laptop has run out on most units by now, and it never covered accidental screen damage anyway. AppleCare+ does. If you have it, go to Apple first. If you don't, Apple's out of warranty quote is for a full assembly replacement, and it's worth comparing against 1680.
